Principal's Message
Welcome to Stowers, Magnet School of International Studies, home of the Snow Leopards. Our teachers and support personnel provide and support an exemplary instructional program with a focus centered on the success of each and every one of our students. We strive for our students to experience an inquiry based learning environment that enables them to understand how they learn and embrace their uniqueness and strengths.
I strongly encourage all our parents to take an active role in their child’s education. This can be easily accomplished by making sure your child get to school on time, attend school regularly, and comes to school prepared to learn every day. When your child comes home each day ask them to share with you 3 things they learned. This keeps you involved with thier learning and encourages them to take ownership by sharing what they learned. Please ensure that your child reads reading level appropriate materials for a minimum of 30 minutes every night. Academics, like all skills, require a lot of practice. So practice, practice, practice.
There are many ways you can get involved at school. Schedule with your child’s teacher to work in the classroom, check in with the office personnel for events and activities you maybe interested in volunteering for. Also, check out our awesome PTA. Your participation in the PTA is a critical part in making our school and your child a success. The Stowers PTA works extremely hard to support our school and its programs. The PTA does more than just raise money for the school. They believe in us and are part of the TEAM. Our students love to see you on campus helping out. They will say, "that's my mom" or "that's my dad."
